Vertical Subject Overviews (VSO):
AISB vertically aligns its curriculum with documents now called Vertical Subject Overviews (VSO's) while completing internally associated unit plans. VSO's are made of up of units of study. Each unit has a teacher created plan or complete unit summary including items such as essential questions, standard and benchmarks addressed, activities, formative and summative assessments, time periods, resources, etc. Unit plans are published internally.

French Curriculum Overviews/Course Flow Charts
The French department, as part of our curriculum initiative, has further developed the major focuses of their curriculum (Grammar, Listening, ...). They have also included how this flows from French class to class (course flow charts).
For the 2010-11 we plan on updating our VSO and beginning the process of creating more in-depth Curriculum Maps for each subject. The Curriculum Maps contain major parts of the teachers' unit plans organized in a different format.
AISB Classes: Moodle, Blogs and More...
For the 2010-11 School Year, AISB has again set technology goals related to the classes we offer. We plan on reaching this goal by the begnning of the school year.
AISB's Early Learning Center and Elementary teachers have set a goal of setting up their own classroom blogs. Below are these teachers' efforts so far. Also, below are the curriculum overviews for each of the classes.
In the Secondary School core subject teachers and French teachers are setting up a Moodle class page, a virtual classroom with documents, calendar, etc. for each class. The Secondary Principal also has his own blog for the secondary school and school counseling. Finally, all specialist teachers have also set up blogs. Look for the Secondary Moodle link and other links below.
Thanks to the support of AISB's technology team with plan on keeping up with this goal through out the year.
