The art room has been a hub of creative activity!
Students created their own mythical or unusual creatures and we had a menagerie of ‘critters’ living in the art room for a while. There definitely are some VERY unusual animals here!
Grade 6 completed their self-portrait series, starting with a pencil contour drawing. This was used as the base for a coloured pencil drawing, a wild and crazy chalk pastel image and then a Van Gogh style oil pastel version.
Grade 4/5 completed colourful layered landscapes in the style of the late Canadian artist, Ted Harrison.
And Grade 2/3 made cat faces in warm and cool colours in the style of the late Laurel Burch, a US artist known for her cats and dogs, bright colours and patterns, and just a hint of gold or silver.
